Georgia measles cases reach 21 in 2026 after five unvaccinated or under-vaccinated Jasper County siblings test positive
The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed five measles cases in siblings from one Jasper County family who were unvaccinated or under-vaccinated, bringing Georgia's 2026 total to 21, more than double the 10 cases reported in all of 2025.
The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed five measles cases in members of a Jasper County family. The siblings were either unvaccinated or under-vaccinated, and at least one has a history of out-of-state travel. DPH says these cases are not related to the earlier outbreak in Cobb County. Georgia now has 21 confirmed measles cases in 2026, compared with 10 in all of 2025.
According to DPH, more than 95 percent of people who receive one dose of the MMR vaccine develop immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella, and a second dose raises protection to about 98 percent.
