Georgia Tech CEISMC redesigns K-12 InVenture Prize teacher workshops, drawing 40 educators to four sessions across Georgia

Georgia Tech's CEISMC reworked its K-12 InVenture Prize summer teacher workshops this year, with veteran teachers stepping in as facilitators for the first time. Forty teachers from across the state took part in four sessions held in Atlanta, at Southern Regional Technical College, and in Savannah.

Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing redesigned its summer professional development for K-12 InVenture Prize teachers, adding peer led learning, hands-on activities, tours, and technical training. Workshops for middle and high school teachers met at Georgia Tech in Atlanta with IronCAD instruction and a tour of a campus makerspace, a separate elementary teacher workshop met in Atlanta with a paper-making session, and further workshops were held at Southern Regional Technical College in Southwest Georgia and in Savannah, all open to past, current, and new K-12 educators.
